"We have been waiting for such a series for a long time," five-times Olympic champion Isabell Werth said. This season, she will compete with two horses at the MedienCup-series. "MedienCup is the perfect match for us riders, a competition series between Nuremberg Cup Final for seven- to nine-year-old horses and Grand Prix-sport. This series is simply brilliant."

Following the successful pilot year 2007, the competition series for eight- to ten-year-old young Grand Prix-horses celebrated its debut in 2008. The system proved to be successful and it will be the same in 2009: the three best duos of each of the four qualifiers will be allowed to compete in the final. And the exercises will be the same: The German National Equestrian Federation developed a new dressage exercise especially for this Grand Prix-series for young horses. It includes all exercises of an official Grand Prix-test, but with a different sequence, a reduced number of exercises and a reduced quantity of steps in the piaffe.
